Our Drivers Education classes are online and self-paced. The online course is 30 hours and a maximum of 3 hours can be completed in a 24 hour period. Students are encouraged to complete the course as quickly as they are comfortable with the material, and the course must be completed within 45 days of starting the course. Drives will not be scheduled until most of the classwork is completed. The drives do not have to be completed in 45 days. There’s an additional $15 charge to extend the course for an additional 30 days past the original period.

Full payment is required prior to the start of the course. The cost is $415 for cash or check, $427 by credit card. The extra $12 fee, for credit card transactions, covers the credit card processing charges. Checks can be mailed to the address below.

Online Class Registration
Upon registering for the online class, the student must confirm their email address. This step must be completed prior to their approval for the course.
Once they’re registered and approved, they can start the online course. However, the course has to be paid for prior to starting.

Practice Driving
Each student is required to have practiced driving for 10 to 15 hours prior to scheduling drives with the program. They need to be comfortable driving in Marion, Cedar Rapids or Iowa City. In addition, they need to practice parking, city driving, highway and interstate driving. We reserve the right to remove any student from the drive schedule that is not ready to drive in these situations. This is for the safety of all students.
